Due to the situation in Israel, the student exchange program is on hold and therefore we are not accepting students from abroad for 2024-2025 until further notice.

1. Application

Elective will take place between January 1st -March 31st and between May1st -July 1st, depends upon the availability of the departments in the various hospitals.

The duration of the elective- up to 8 weeks.

The application form must be completed and submitted online  6 months prior the start of the elective.

Answers will be given about 3 months after receiving the application.

Applications must include:

  1. Photo
  2. Original Grade transcript (stamped by the home institute)
  3. Current CV/Resume
  4. Letter of interest for a clinical elective at the Technion.
  5. Letters of recommendation from TWO home faculty members.
  6. Verification of immunization (stamped by the home institute) found in section 3.
  7. Verification of health insurance
  8. Photo of passport

2. Fees

  1. The application requires a 75 USD processing fee that must be paid by credit card when applying online.
  2.  We charge an elective fee of 50 USD per week. Payment of such fee must be fully paid online after you are accepted to the program and prior to your arrival.
  3. **NOTE- there is a minimum elective fee of 200 USD.

3. Immunization Requirements:

According to Israel’s Ministry of Health, All visiting students must provide evidence of immunization. This form must be submitted prior to the start date of elective studies. The required immunizations are: MMR (mumps, measles, rubella), polio, hepatitis B virus (HBV), tetanus-diphtheria, Mantoux, and skin test with PPD (tuberculosis). It is mandatory for elective students to carry valid immunizations documents (in English or Hebrew) during their studies in Israel. Each student must present a hard copy oh his/her immunization log/booklet upon arrival in Haifa. A student without such document will not be accepted to the hospital.

Please note that there may be additional immunizations according to the requirements of the hospitals, exact details will be provided after admission to the hospital

4. Health Insurance

1. visiting students in the program arrives for observations only, all visiting students must be covered by personal insurance, accidents insurance and health insurance, Our school does not provide coverage for students.

Each student must present a hard copy of his/her personal, accidents and health insurance upon arrival at the hospital. a student without such documents will not be accepted to the hospital.

5. End of Rotation Confirmation

Any kind of “End of Rotation Confirmation Form” required by the student’s home university, will not be signed unless the Intech-Med Evaluation Form is filled up by the student’s supervising doctor upon finishing the rotation in the hospital.
